The spirit of giving is one of life’s greatest rewards

Giving is what drives the quality and variety of services we provide to patients and the dynamic roles we play in the surrounding communities. The Hills & Dales Foundation uses contributions from supporters to purchase new equipment, make building improvements and support educational programs exclusively at Hills & Dales Hospital.

You can leave a lasting impact on the delivery of healthcare in our community by making a gift to the Hills & Dales Foundation. Your gift provides the Foundation with opportunities to improve our services that may otherwise not be possible. Your donation allows us to continue to improve the well being of our citizens. Your support makes a difference!

Hills & Dales Hospital is proud to give back to the community in any way possible. Many members of our community benefit from the free education programs, health screenings, counseling, support groups and school based programs offered annually. Each year, the Hospital performs over $2.5 million of uncompensated care due to patients’ inability to pay or lack of reimbursement from government programs. The Hospital also offers supplies, staff and monetary gifts to community organizations in need.

Planned Giving

The Foundation works with financial and legal experts to help you and your family make gifts that will honor your life’s work. Hills & Dales Healthcare is a 501c3 non-profit organization and planned gifts are tax-wise which allows you and your family to leave a legacy in your community.

A planned gift to the Hills & Dales Foundation may take place in many forms including:

Bequest in a will
Establishment of a trust
Gifts of life insurance or annuities
Gifts of appreciated property such as stocks, securities and real estate
Charitable gifts of cash

Foundation Board

The Hills & Dales Foundation Board of Directors currently consists of 7 community volunteers from various professional backgrounds who serve through the Foundation to enhance the resources of Hills & Dales Healthcare. These men and women make policy decisions related to the governance of the Foundation. They also assist in the fundraising process and approve appropriate funding requests within the Hospital.

Foundation Events

Annual Winter Fundraiser: Our 23rd Annual Winter Fundraiser will be held at Beagio’s in Kingston on February 3rd, 2024. More information to come soon!
Annual Golf Outing: Our 25^th Annual Golf Outing was Wednesday, August 9, 2023. This year, we added an extra course in Caro and a raffle drawing where one individual had a chance to win $12,500! The day-long tournament had over 230 golfers between Ubly, Caro, and Cass City golf courses, with over 52 sponsorships. This year, Hills & Dales had a record-breaking year where they raised over $58,000 for their foundation! All proceeds from this event will go to the Northwood Meadows Campaign.
Building for Our Future - The Campaign for Northwood Meadows: We kicked off this campaign at our annual winter fundraiser on February 4, 2023. We are raising money to renovate, modernize, and enhance the amenities of Northwood Meadows. Our plan includes:
- A complete renovation of residential facilities,
- Upgrades, including allocating space for a senior-friendly fitness center,
- Remodeling shower rooms in the medical unit,
- Inclusion of handicap-accessible jacuzzi tubs in shower rooms,
- New furniture and fixtures in common areas,
- Upgrading technology to enhance residents' connections to the outside world.

To date, we have received over $218,000 in donations. The generosity among our employees and the communities surrounding us is incredible.

Funded Projects

Since 2014, the Foundation has funded more than $125,000 in purchases for various Hospital Departments. Some of these items included:

Radiology Department:

New Blood Draw Chair
2- Bariatric Waiting Room Chairs
TV for Pulmonary Rehab Education

Rehabilitation Department:

Matrix Rotary Hip Machine (used as treatment option for patients with hip, knee, back, and lower extremity diagnoses)
Power Adjustable Treatment Table

Operating Room:

Arthroscopy Instrument Set
Cabinet Blanket Warming Unit

Marketing Department:

New Adobe Computer Software

Infection Control Department:

Controlled Air Purifying Respirator Unit & Supplies (used in caring for patients with airborne diseases, such as tuberculosis, varicella, or measles, as well as MERS, SARS, and Ebola. They provide respiratory protection for employees involved in the care of these patients).

Food Services Department:

New Refrigerator Cold Case Cabinet

Cass City Medical Practice:

New Base Exam Table with leg crutches

These purchases will save each listed department thousands of dollars and will benefit our patients in many ways. The items purchased are key to moving our hospital forward with the most updated equipment & technology. The support to the Foundation allows this to happen.
